
The Department of Culture of the City Council of Casares commemorates the International Flamenco Day with several initiatives that seek to value the recognition of this art as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, on November 16, 2010. The activities focus on various proposals of the Municipal School of Dance , who has prepared a publication entitled ‘Live the Flamenco! Get to know the Fandango de Casares’, which will be distributed on the same Tuesday, November 16, among the students of the school and of the Casares and Dryer.
The publication analyzes the past and the present, both of the fandango and of the neighbors who preserve the old local style, as a musical memory of the old peasant party from town. On the same 16 in the afternoon, the students of the school will represent a ‘flashmob ‘, a small exhibition of flamenco dance and fandango casareño, in public places in each of the three urban centers of the municipality.
Days before, on Saturday November 13, the show ‘Hospitality’, that combines Flemish, poetry and painting. The last edition of the Rosa Fina de Casares Flamenco Festival focused on the encounter of Arte Jondo with the visual and audiovisual arts through different activities.
Among them, the exhibition of Flemish paintings and video-creations by Patricio hidalgo who returns to Casares participating in this performance that presents an original scenic combination of flamenco, the poetic word and living painting. The show will begin at 10:00 p.m. with free admission until full capacity is reached.
