The City Council and Marbella FC have highlighted this Monday “the attractiveness” for the city and for the club of the six finalist projects for the construction of the new municipal stadium Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas, whose winner of the ideas contest proposed by the Consistory will be announced this coming Thursday, July 14.

The Councilor for Sports, Manuel Cardeña, and the spokesman for the local team, Esteban Granero, have visited today the sample that is exhibited in the Royal Hospital of Mercy and have pointed out the importance of having facilities that meet the needs of the team for its future projection.

“Although the opinion of Marbella FC is not binding for the jury, for us it is very important because it will be the main user of the sports infrastructure”, pointed out the mayor, who stated that “all projects meet the needs of the entity and they also comply with the different requirements imposed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, UEFA and FIFA in order to host relevant competitions in our city and avoid in the future that modifications have to be made to adapt the facilities to the different regulations. ”.

For its part, Granero has expressed its satisfaction “for the good pace at which the project is progressing because for us it is a priority to have a new stadium for our fans and, in that sense, we will always be supporting the City Council” and has highlighted that the proposals presented “are in the same line of modernity that we want in the club”.
