The Estepona City Council has informed the users of the permanent fairground, sports and leisure park this Thursday that works have begun for the construction of a climbing wall, which will be dedicated to sport climbing and which will have an investment of 1,682,158.94 euros.

The jobs, which will have a six month lead timethey will not affect the practice of the rest of the sports disciplines that can be practiced in this sports equipment.

The wall-climbing wall is being built in accordance with the UNE EN 12572 standard, and has been designed for the following practices: mode of difficulty, speed and block.

It will have a full area of ​​662 square meterswhich will be divided as follows for the practice of the different modalities provided in this discipline: speed zone (115 square meters), difficulty zone (363 square meters) and block zone (184 square meters).

The space, which will be outdoors and will have a covercan also be used at night because it will have a lighting system.

This action, which is being carried out by the company Sepisur XXI SL, will mean a investment of 1,682,158.94 euros, financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan-Funded by the European Union-Next Generation EU. The project is included in the framework of the extraordinary program of tourism sustainability in destinations 2021-2023 in its axis 4 competitiveness of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism of Estepona 2022-2024.
