Work has begun to expand and improve the lighting system of the coastal corridor. The Deputy Mayor of the External Control and Services area, Blas Ruzafa, has reported that a total of 220 led and vandal-proof beacons will be installed in the sections that require reinforcement in the lighting.
The municipal official explained that the new beacons will not produce light pollution because they will project the light horizontally, and will improve energy efficiency as they are low-consumption luminaires. In addition to improving the lighting system in wooden structures, the Town Hall will also It will replace a series of street lamps with LED-type luminaires.
This intervention to improve lighting is part of a municipal plan to fine-tune the coastal corridor, which has become one of the main leisure and recreation spaces for citizens.
In this sense, he added that the improvements to the different paths will be completed with the reform of the wooden walkways that are in poor condition due to the use and installation of a hundred stainless steel bins.
The person in charge of the External Control and Services area has indicated that the actions will be carried out in various points of the coastal corridor that run through areas such as Villas Andaluzas, Hacienda Beach, Kempinski hotel, Laguna Village, El Velerín, or El Pirata, among others. .
This project for the conditioning of the coastal corridor is being carried out by the company Filmar Servicios de Conservación Industriales and has a budget of 98,251.14 euros (VAT included). The execution period will be 60 days.
At the moment, the coastal corridor project in Estepona is already almost 90% executed, which implies the existence of 19 kilometers of coastline linked by pedestrian paths.
In this sense, it should be remembered that in 2020 three new sections were inaugurated: the one that connects the Laguna Village shopping center with Dominion Beach (with a length of 870 meters); a second section of 145 meters located in Riviera Andaluza and a third section of path in front of the new IKOS Andalucía hotel, also in the Guadalmansa area, corresponding to the urbanization of this area.
In addition, others are being promoted in the western part of the municipality, specifically, in Arroyo Enmedio, where a small bridge will be installed, and in the Arroyo Vaquero area, where a new bridge has been projected over the riverbed, and that It already has the authorization of the Junta de Andalucía.
Finally, it should be noted that last July the section of the coastal corridor in the Guadalmansa area, which runs between the IKOS Andalucía hotel and the Park Beach urbanization, was completed, allowing the 11 kilometers that are from the Guadalmansa area to the port of Estepona.
