The mayor of the Malaga municipality Estepona, José María García Urbano, has participated this Thursday in one of the round tables of the XII Conference on Residential Tourism, organized by Andalucía Inmobiliaria and the Andalusian Federation of Developers and Residential Tourism at the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace hotel .

During his speech, the councilor highlighted “the need to streamline and simplify” urban planning procedures “in public administrations to attract investments that boost the economy.”

In his opinion, “a second decentralization is necessary in our country” because the city councils “continue to need regional guardianship” to “make decisions that can be adopted by the technicians of the local administrations, who know the current legislation and who monitor that apply the law in the administrative acts that take place in their municipalities”.

Similarly, “to avoid unnecessary repetition and lengthening of deadlines”, the mayor of Estepona has indicated that the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) “is calling for a simplification of the procedures that comply with the legal framework that guarantees the protection of the territory and respect for the environment.
