The councilor of the PSOE of MarbellaIsabel Pérez, will assume the spokespersonship of the socialist municipal group from the constitution of the new Corporation, which will take place on June 17, a decision that has the unanimous support of all members, as reported by the party this Friday.
Pérez has been grateful for the support and has indicated that from now on a new stage “that we must face responsibly from the place where the citizens have placed us”.
At the same time, it has recognized that electoral results have not been as expectedalthough “from the socialist municipal group we will continue working to bring the voice of the residents of Marbella and San Pedro to the plenary session of the City Council”.
In the same way, the lawyer Adrián Jiménez, number 9 of the socialist candidacy for the municipal elections, will take the act of councilor after the resignation of number 2 on the list, Elena Benítezwho has been grateful for the trust.
Elena Benítez’s project was aimed at manage sports facilities in San Pedro and Marbella, and since he did not obtain the support of the public, he will once again focus one hundred percent on his work in the Spanish Taekwondo Federation, although he will continue to work together with the municipal group in everything he can contribute.
José Bernal, who during the last mandates has held the municipal group spokesperson positionhas wanted to thank both for the work carried out up to now and their commitment for the future.
“We thought our project would have greater support and since it does not happen, all that remains is to facilitate the transition to a new project that excites us”, said Bernal, who was “immensely grateful for having had the great honor of being mayor of Marbella for two years”. “There is nothing greater in politics than being mayor of your town”, he declared.
Lastly, he wanted thank the voters of the PSOEas well as the incoming and outgoing councillors, the support received at all times, and the “atmosphere of cordiality and camaraderie” in which these decisions that affect the future of the formation have been made.
As of next May 17, the socialist municipal group of Marbella will be made up of Isabel Perez, Jose Bernal, Javier PorcunaBlanca Fernández, José Ignacio Macías, Antonio Párraga, Sonia Pérez and Adrián Jiménez.
