The president of the Junta de Andalucía and the PP-A, Juanma Morenohas stated this Thursday that, as of today, there is no “no imputation” of the mayor of MarbellaÁngeles Muñoz, or any member of the municipal corporation, after the prosecution of the husband of the popular councilor for the alleged crimes of money laundering and criminal organization.
Speaking to journalists in Parliament, the president limited himself to indicating that has no further information on this matter “from which it has come out in the media”.
Asked if he supports the mayor, he has insisted that does not have any information and that there are no accusations from members of the municipal government.
The judge of the National High Court Manuel García Castellón has prosecuted the husband of the mayor of Marbella for the alleged crimes of money laundering and criminal organization within the framework of an alleged network led by Swedish citizens who reportedly exported large quantities of drugs from Spain, especially marijuana and hashish, to the Nordic countries, especially Sweden.
The mayor of Marbella: “There is nothing from the City Council or anything as mayor”
“There is absolutely nothing of mine like the mayor nor of course within the scope of the City Council”, reiterated the mayor of Marbella the same day he met prosecution of her husband. And he alluded to the proximity of the municipal elections and the interests of the opposition.
“There are those who want to insist again, we already know that there is interest, there are elections close and the fair has gone very well. From there it is clear that there is a group that has a special interest, “he concluded.
In this same sense, the municipal spokesman, Felix Romero, emphasizing that “it has nothing to do with the government or with municipal management” nor “in the political sphere with the mayor herself, it does not affect her management.” “She is someone outside this administration”, she has reiterated, pointing out that “it does not affect the City Council at all”.
Romero also insisted that “it is evident that there is a certain political intent.” “It’s something that usually happens every four years, we have been with soap operas of this type for 15 years every time the elections are approaching,” he said, insisting that “it has nothing to do with the City Council” and that in that car “as I understand it, what is being done is to paralyze the judicial procedure on some people who have nothing to do with municipal management or the mayor”.
Warn of legal action
This past Wednesday, the Marbella City Council assured that it will take legal action “against all those who try to cloud the image of the local Administration and link municipal management and that of the mayor with matters unrelated to the Corporation”, according to the spokesman for the government team, Félix Romero, who regretted that the opposition groups “seek once again to take political advantage of a situation that has nothing to do with the Consistory”.
Romero also censured the “lack of scruples of the PSOE and its machinery, as well as other parties, when it comes to search and exploit a judicial file even knowing that it has no relationship with the City Council or with the work carried out by the mayor and the local Executive.
“Not everything can be used in politics, red lines cannot be crossed using the family to try to damage and harm the image of the City Council with a merely electoral interest”, lamented Romero, who advanced that “anyone who defames or insults the members of this Corporationthat sows doubts about the legality of their management or that links them to a criminal act must respond to justice.
The PSOE asks for explanations
For his part, the spokesman for the socialist municipal group and organizational secretary of the PSOE in Malaga, José Bernal, requested again this past Wednesday that “Mrs. Muñoz explains of what he puts in the car that his family, to obtain real estate benefits, had contacts with public officials and officials of the Marbella City Council”, supposedly.
In addition, the socialist demands that the councilor make “at the disposal of this city the summarybecause she said that when the summary secret was lifted, everything would be black on white, and we want to see the summary and I think that all the people of Marbella and San Pedro”.
At this point, he referred to the news related to a UDEF report according to which allegedly “there were telephone calls in which things as serious as that the victories of the Popular Party (PP) in certain municipalities, it was the guaranteed success of a -supposed- criminal organization gangand we want to know what other calls are in the summary”, valued Bernal.
