Marbella has enabled 160 parking spaces in two of the main accesses to the Real de Zaragoza de Las Chapas beach. In this sense, one of the parking lots that has been opened is located in the Cibeles Avenuein which 52 vehicles enter and the second in the Garden of the Pines Avenue with capacity to accommodate up to 108 vehicles, as reported by the Consistory.
The work has been based on the asphalting of both accesses, which in total cover 3,500 square meters of surface and the delimitation of parking spaces with road signs. These have also caused pedestrian safety improvementssince it has managed to repair 712 square meters of pavement 178 of pits in poor condition.
The Councilor for Works, Diego López, together with the mayor of the District of Las Chapas, Carlos Alcalá, have visited the performance. During the same the councilor has indicated that the initiative “responds to the demands of the neighbors and to the citizens who move to this area of the coast”.
In this way, López has assured that “the roots of the trees had raised the pavement, which is going to be cleaned up and replaced, eliminating architectural barriers”, he has also added that new lights and four waste collection platforms will be installed.
For his part, Carlos Alcalá pointed out that the government team has worked “against the clock so that the car parks are ready before the start of the holidays summer, which is when the busiest season begins in the area”.
These works have been carried out, according to the mayor, with “the objective of improving the quality of life of the residents of the Lunamar Urbanization and of this area, which has more than 17,000 residents, and decongest the streets”. Likewise, Alcalá has insisted that they are going to contribute to “revitalizing this area of Las Chapas, where the Real de Zaragoza dunes are located”.
The works of these car parks also join the asphalt conditioning and signage renewal that the City Council is carrying out in Cornalina, Calomela and Estena streets, in the Nagüeles area, for its Great deterioration due to the passage of time.
