The City Council of Mijas has extended the application period for the COMETHA plan, a package of aid for retail trade, tourism companies, hospitality and self-employed in the municipality, which can be requested until November 11 and for which the local Administration will allocate an amount of 10, 3 million euros, as reported this Wednesday by the Town Hall.
Interested persons can formalize your request in the electronic office of the Municipality of Mijas. Among the main requirements included in these grants, which will have the character of competitive competition, is that the turnover of companies and freelancers corresponding to the first semester of 2021 has decreased by at least 30% compared to the first half of 2019.
The COMETHA plan includes two lines of aid such as’Cometha ’employment, with benefits worth € 8.5 million, and ‘Cometha tourism ‘, which will have 1.8 million aimed at tourism companies, as they recalled from the City Council.
The first line will have grants of up to 6,000 euros depending on the number of workers. The second remittance will have grants of up to 50,000 euros depending on the type of tourist accommodation and up to 75,000 euros for golf courses depending on the number of holes.
Total, 10.3 million that the City Council of Mijas allocates to strengthen the local economy and activate employment of the municipality and that will be added to the first line of aid executed by the local government last year, the Plan OREA, which has benefited 3,528 family businesses and self-employed in the town.
The City Council of Mijas proceeded to open the call for the ‘Cometha plan’ on September 16, being a package of aid that will reinforce the local economy and the activation of employment in the municipality. During the presentation last month, the mayor highlighted that “this is a example of the commitment of this local government with the Mijas population and with economic recovery and social support for the groups most affected by this terrible pandemic ”of coronavirus.
The councilor pointed out that “Now we are once again at the head of the administrations that are responding to the needs of their business fabric and the self-employed with the opening of the request for this plan, which includes news with respect to the previous one since circumstances have changed, but which has the same final objective, which is none other than help to reactivate the local economy and ensure the maintenance of employment ”.
The Definitive bases of this plan were approved by the plenary session of the Municipality of Mijas on August 31 with the votes in favor of the PSOE and C’s and the abstention of the rest of the groups.
