The Councilor for Transport and Mobility of MijasNicolás Cruz, has reported this Tuesday that he will take to the next plenary session, which is held tomorrow, Wednesday, the initial approval of the new municipal taxi ordinance, a text that seeks to improve the provision of this public service.

The mayor has highlighted that the document has “the consensus between the City Council, the taxi bossrepresented above all by Radio Taxi, and wage earners”.

Cruz has pointed out that “this new text has two objectives, on the one hand adapt to the new Andalusian taxi regulationsand secondly give response to needs that we have been detecting in the service in the last three years”.

Thus, the councilor has advanced that the new ordinance “seeks to improve the service both in the procedure of new licensesas well as setting new requirements for vehicles that provide the same, going from three to four Euro NCAP safety stars and improving, among other aspects, the internal characteristics of the cars”.

On the other hand, Cruz has detailed that the ordinance contemplates an extension of the stops “from 32 to 38that is to say, six new stops to undertake a better coverage of the municipal district, which as we know is quite extensive”, and added that all these elements included in the new ordinance, both for improving the characteristics of the vehicles and the service they provide , “in addition to those initiatives that we are already developing, such as the installation of more accessible canopies and safe or the electrical recharging points and other elements to give greater visibility to the stops and that we have planned for next year”.

In short, a new text that supposes “an important step in improving this service that lends in Mijas a total of 114 taxis and that will resultin short, in the degree of satisfaction of taxi users”, concludes the mayor.
