The City Council of Mijas has begun in the population center of Las Lagunas the Comprehensive remodeling of Bobadilla and Almáchar streetsas well as its interconnection through a new road traffic lane that will be located next to the passage of the A-7 motorway through the town, about works that will have an investment of more than 600,000 euros and that they will be undertaken after reaching a neighborhood agreement, as announced on Monday by the mayor, Josele González.
The councilor pointed out that “we wanted to listen to the neighbors of the area doing for it several meetings and even developing a consultationreason why the integral remodeling has been projected adjusting to their needs”.
As the councilor has clarified, “we want to make it clear that the green area at the end of Calle Almácharand which adjoins the highway, will remain intact”, assuring that in no case on this road or on Bobadilla street “will they join directly with Mijas avenue or with the highway”.
For González, these works are an example that “when the Mijas City Council carries out a work of this type, it does so with the neighborhood consensusseeking to improve the environment”, since this work “It is not a whim, but a necessity and I am convinced that when it is finished the neighbors will see that the area has gained a lot”, he concluded.
Regarding the technical data of the works, the first deputy mayor and councilor for Infrastructure and Works in Mijas, José Carlos Martín, recalled that the action, which is already underway, “has a four month lead time with a investment of around 600,000 euros”. In addition, “it comes to improve all the infrastructures of both roads and sanitation is going to be renewed with a network that we execute separately, with rainwater and fecal; new public lighting network that will improve energy efficiency, telecommunications, electricity, etc., and will update the paving and eliminate architectural barriers”.
The mayor has highlighted that the most significant improvement is that “the highway access to Mijas avenue will be increased by one lane, thanks to the fact that we have been working with Carreteras for some time to increase road safety in the area, facilitating mobility and traffic.” In this way, the councilor has assured, “after completing the work vehicles going to Fuengirola from Mijas avenue They’ll go straight in.”
Martin has apologized to the neighbors of the environment for the inconvenience that the work may cause, but has assured that, “once they are finished, we are sure that They will see the advantages and the need to carry them out“, It’s over.
