The terrible fire has moved consciences, and in recent days the requests for Sierra Bermeja to be included in the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, whose bill was approved by the Government of Spain last February, excluding the massif now affected by the flames.

The platform change.org has been receiving signatures from citizens demanding that Sierra Bermeja be included in this project already in process, and already there are more than 20,000 signatures collected via Internet. The initial goal is reach 25,000, with what would become one of the most signed requests on this platform. Those interested can support the cause at this link.

The petition has been initiated by the Monitoring Commission of the Sierras Bermeja y de las Nieves National Park. The promoters of the initiative consider that its inclusion in the future National Park would enhance your protection and would help to better manage this space, included in the Natura 2000 Network and in the Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean Spain-Morocco.

The incorporation of Sierra Bermeja would also mean that the future National Park is the third in Andalusia, as well as ensuring the protection of the pinsapares, the ecosystems and the numerous endemic species of the area, both animals and vegetables.
