The Councilor for Citizens (Cs) Mari Carmen González has resigned this Wednesday of her delegations and her position as councilwoman delivering her minutes to the City Council of Mijasa measure that he has adopted without specifying the reasons for his resignation, as reported by the party.
The companions of the municipal group have supported his decision and have valued his commendable work in the Consistory of Mijas during these last years in which the former mayor has been in the municipal government holding delegations such as Health, Cemetery or Municipal Archives, among others.
In this sense, from the municipal group they have pointed out “the González’s efforts at the head of these departments, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic, where its areas have played an essential role”. The former councilor has been in constant contact with health authorities and has launched vital initiatives for the prevention of the virus as well as for vaccination campaigns.
González’s work has gone beyond physical health, attending to what is called in this sector as the “great forgotten of the pandemic” such as mental health, making available to residents through municipal means to the area psychologist during quarantine.
The former mayor has also achieved in the city zero slaughter of domestic animals, as well as various initiatives in the field of education for prevention of both substance and technology addictions, have indicated.
Also noteworthy is his work at the head of the Mijas Municipal Cemetery, which has provided a staff structure, as well as the improvement of administrative procedures while it has improved infrastructures with a mobile funeral home and the maintenance and upkeep of the existing ones.
