The ninth edition of the New Andalusian Film Festival in Casares is heating up and we already know some details of the program. This year, the festival will deliver its ‘Cámara Obscura 2022’ award to María Cañas for her contribution to collective culture in Andalusian audiovisuals and her transgressive, free and critical artistic production.
But without a doubt one of the highlights of the festival are the training courses. The one aimed at the general population, this year will once again focus on the script, with the advanced practical workshop given by the scriptwriter Isa Sánchez, who has authored such well-known titles as the series ‘The Ministry of Time’ or ‘Málaka’. The course will take place on October 4, 5 and 6 in the morning with a registration fee of €100 including free accommodation for students who require it. Places are limited.
The Festival also takes young people to professions related to Andalusian audiovisuals, giving talks at six secondary schools in the region. In this IX Festival, a great professional with a long and successful career such as Juan Ventura, will talk to students about VFX in cinema, discovering how magic is done with visual effects.
Another of the contests included in the Festival is photography. Already this past Saturday the jury of the contest met to select a total of 30 finalist works that will make up the exhibition that can be visited at the Blas Infante Cultural Center during the ninth edition.
