Marbella will hold the Half Marathon on Sunday, September 25, with an almost complete route through the
Paseo Marítimo, with the world champion Martín Fiz as ambassador and with the participation of well-known local athletes such as Javier Díaz Carretero.

The Councilor for Sports, Manuel Cardeña, attended the presentation of the event at the Corte Inglés in Puerto Banús and highlighted that the objective “is to turn it into an attractive international meeting within three years”. The mayor has shown his satisfaction with the “new format” of the test, “with experts in the field at the helm and sponsors as important as Sierra Blanca Estates or El Corte Inglés”. For his part, Álvaro Lucena, promoter of the race, stressed that through it, “Marbella can offer the world that it is a quality destination”.

He recalled that he will depart at 9:00 a.m. from the Marbella Arch, where he will also finish, after traveling along the coast to Puerto Banús. “We are going to show a very important attraction by carrying out this test by the sea”, he stressed, while pointing out that “our goal is to exceed 2,000 runners at the end of those three years”. Likewise, Martín Fiz, present at the presentation, stressed that the stage “is a beautiful place for this type of race” and announced that the well-known athlete Reyes Estévez has offered to participate in it.
