The Town Hall of mijas is carrying out new pipelines to improve the electrical network with a renewal of the wiring, as well as the installation of 54 new streetlights on the road that connects the nucleus of Las Lagunas with La Alquería in Campo Mijas, being some work that will be finished at the beginning of February, as reported this Tuesday by the Councilor for Electrical Installations, José Carlos Martín.
The mayor stressed that “this area was dark and was a source of insecurity for pedestrians and vehicles”, for which he has ensured that “with this action we managed to make a leap in quality in the daily life of the residents, who will be able to travel with greater guarantees by having efficient lighting”.
So, the layout occupies 1,250 linear meters that will have greater luminosity in a very busy point of the municipal term, since connects Las Lagunas with the rural area and with Mijas Pueblo.
“The technology that we have in these new streetlights is ledwhich means energy and economic savings”, pointed out the mayor, who added that “these works are part of the ‘plan to replace municipal lights’.
The department works in the area of improving energy efficiency, not only with performances carried out on public roads and municipal buildingsbut also in the area of awareness and training in the matter.
