The tourist data for September on the Costa del Sol show an occupation of 68.76% at the end of the month, according to data from the Association of Hotel Entrepreneurs of the Costa del Sol (AEHCOS). This figure represents an average of four points above the initial forecasts. The first fortnight of September has been preferred by visitors, with an occupation of the 71.16%, while the second has closed with a 66.36%.

The figures are still far from those before the pandemic, but “they are improving as they improve

By municipalities, Nerja It once again leads the ranking of most visited destinations, with an occupancy rate of 89% in the first half of September and 77% in the second. After this town, they are followed by the region of the Axarquía, Malaga capital and Marbella, as places preferred by tourists who stay in hotels.

According to the data provided by hoteliers so far, occupancy in October is expected to reach a 56.98%, while for November it will be around 35.29%, according to these forecasts.
