The Civil Guard has arrested in Estepona in operations other than two fled of British and Dutch justice, the first of them involved in a kidnapping and theft of luxury watches and the second accused of fraud, money laundering and illegal possession of weapons.

The two men were claimed by the authorities of their respective countries and have been arrested in different operations carried out in the Costa del Sol in relation to the search for fugitives, as reported this Sunday by the armed institute.

The theft of luxury watches and a kidnapping

When resisting, the attackers stabbed the victim several times, who suffered “extremely serious” injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

The fugitive cut his hand during the attack, which allowed Merseyside Police to identify him. FMR was also investigated in Spain for his relationship with a kidnapping occurred in Mijas in 2022. The victim, who was robbed of a Rolex brand watch, was held against her will in a house in this municipality and the assailants tried to collect a ransom for her release, but the victim managed to flee by jumping from the balcony.

This criminal, the Civil Guard points out, was included both in the Most Wanted project of the British National Crime Agency (NCA) and in the non-profit non-governmental organization Crimestoppers, launched in 2006 to identify fugitives wanted by British Policemainly for crimes related to drug trafficking, murder, robberies, and arms trafficking in the United Kingdom and who are suspected of having fled to Spain.

On the other hand, in another operation, the Civil Guard has also arrested in Estepona the citizen of the Netherlands CAB, claimed for crimes of scam, money laundering and illegal possession of weapons.

CAB was part of a criminal organization dedicated to email scams in 2019, affecting dozens of victims in that country. In addition, during the house search that was carried out at his home in NetherlandsSeveral firearms were found.

Both investigations have been carried out by the Central Operative Unit of the Civil Guard, specifically by the Fleeing from Justice Team, in collaboration with the NCA Liaison Office in Spain and the Dutch police.
