Haute cuisine and solidarity meet again in Marbella for the celebration of ‘Chefs ForChildren’, which is held today at the Hotel Los Monteros, and where 29 Spanish chefs with Michelin stars and 150 schoolchildren from the city participate. Mayor Ángeles Muñoz has also highlighted the social dimension of an event that, through the Juegaterapia Foundation (which helps children with cancer), collaborates to make a project for patients admitted to the Hospital Materno Infantil de Málaga a reality, consisting of creating a garden with a rooftop outdoor play area.
The City Council, according to the first councilor, supports one more year ‘Chefs ForChildren’, which celebrates its third edition, and has organized a drawing contest in five local schools, as has been the case of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Hermanos Gil Muñiz, Francisco Echamendi, Los Olivos and Xarblanca. The winners have obtained as a prize their attendance, together with the children of the Andrés Olivares Foundation, to the cooking workshops given by the culinary masters.
Muñoz thanked both the organization and the prestigious chefs, among whom there are more than fifty Michelin stars, “who have once again chosen the municipality, where we can boast of excellence thanks to the gastronomic level that we have”. In addition, he stressed that ‘Chefs For Children’ takes place in an emblematic hotel in Marbella and with an exceptional climate, despite taking place in the last week of October.
For her part, Pilar Candil, director of Lima Communications and Events, a promoter agency, recalled that “in order to carry it out, we have traveled a difficult path, changing the dates three times due to the pandemic, but we have always maintained the same illusion ”.
