The town of mijas will host in the coming weeks various charity events in order to help one two and a half year old little neighbor with mobility problems, the proceeds of which will go towards the purchase of an adapted wheelchair, as reported by the mayor, Josele González, on Tuesday.
This was highlighted by the councilor in the presentation of the initiative, where he was accompanied by the Councilor for Employment, Laura Moreno, and representatives of the Idiliq Foundation, the Alegría de la huerta association and Caritas.
González has highlighted “the support and dissemination of this cause” that the Consistory will give, in which various groups collaborate and with which “we want to help a family from Mijas, specifically a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who needs the help of all the residents of Mijas”.
For this reason, various activities have been organized such as a Solidarity dinner that will take place at the Bar Fiesta on February 18 or a trip to the Carnival of Cádiz on February 25. All proceeds will go to the buying an electric chair for this little neighbor”, for which “an account is going to be opened for all those who want to collaborate financially”.
The ambassador of the Idiliq Foundation, Hernán Lara, has indicated that the adapted chair costs 7,000 euros “and we have already made a contribution of 1,000 euros and we will also attend the charity dinner”, who added that they will also be able to buy shares for a raffle for “a voucher for a week’s stay in Tenerife or on the Costa del Sol in our Idiliq brand complexes”.
For their part, the places for the Cádiz Carnival trip “They are practically sold”, the president of the Alegría de la Huerta Association, Antonia Núñez, thanked, emphasizing that “the entire town of Mijas is turning to this girl who needs many things that are very expensive. Her parents are making a tremendous effort, but together we are going to ensure that this girl has a normal life like her sister.
