From tomorrow until October 8, the municipality of Casares will become the capital of the seventh art with the celebration of the New Andalusian Film Festival. Fifteen short films, feature films and documentaries will compete in the ninth edition of this event, the only one dedicated exclusively to Andalusian cinema.
From Monday to Friday, the competition productions will be screened at the Blas Infante Cultural Center. Specifically, at 6:30 p.m. there will be a session dedicated to documentaries and at 9:00 p.m. the selection of fiction short and feature films.
Apart from this, there will be many other activities during the week dedicated to cinema, such as the Andalusian scriptwriters’ conference, the training course given by the scriptwriter Isa Sánchez, the presentation of the Cámara Oscura award to the audiovisual artist María Cañas and the popular Short Film Contest Express. These are short films that have been shot in Casares for 48 hours and the result of which will be screened next Tuesday.
