The Mijas City Council and the company in charge of water management on the Costa del Sol, Acosol, have sealed this Tuesday the agreement that allows the latter to assume the free transfer of use, the maintenance, management and operation of the two pumping stations (EBAR) and the treatment plant (WWTP) in the Las Lomas urbanization, as announced by the mayor, Josele González.
“It was a historic request, the consequence of a problem that affected almost 150 owners of the Las Lomas urbanization de Mijas, and that today we put a solution after a long time of tireless work in which all parties have had to make concessions “, said the councilor, who has celebrated the fact that” we reached this agreement that guarantees that the neighbors who have their property ahí They will be able to exercise their rights of sale with all legal guarantees ”.
González has valued how Acosol “has been fundamental to unblock this agreement, since thanks to the provision that is currently in the address of this company has sought solutions, always with the fundamental mediation of the Mijas City Council ”.
Thus, the area of Infrastructures and Urbanism of the Consistory has been working on this project for the last four years to help residents solve this historical urban and environmental problem. “On 2017 we carried out from the Works department a subsidiary execution of the old WWTP and its two pumping stations. After this, it was important find someone to put them into operation and carry out maintenance and upkeep and, in this case, one of the tasks of the City Council has also been to mediate with Acosol, which is the company that is going to carry out the set-up, service and then the maintenance and conservation of these infrastructures ”, has noted the mayor of Works and Infrastructures, José Carlos Martín.
For his part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, Andrés Ruiz, stressed that “the main purpose of this agreement is solve an environmental problem, which is where he eradicates the importance of all this work, since the station comes into operation in a totally legal way and the waste problem is solved “.
