The Hotel Association of Businessmen of the Costa del Sol (Aehcos) has launched a campaign to help those affected by the eruption of the ‘Cumbre Vieja’ volcano on the island of La Palma, and it will do so in collaboration with Cáritas Diocesana de Tenerife.
“We are shocked with what is happening on La Palma. At Aehcos we feel with the moral obligation to contribute our grain of sand in the face of such a human, environmental and economic catastrophe. We ask for help for the victims, the sum of small gestures can be an important trigger to help the affected families”Laments the president of the association, José Luque.

Currently, there are more than 6,500 people (7.7% of the total population) who have seen their biography abruptly interrupted, losing their homes and means of work. «More than 2,000 families whose main economic activities were agriculture or tourism and who now they require everyone’s solidarity to find a place to stay«, Has declared Luque.
Cáritas Diocesana is an Official Confederation of charitable and social action entities established in Spain with more than seventy centers that coordinate, guide and promote charitable action in their diocese. It has 5,300 people hired who carry out their activity thanks to the support of more than 80,000 volunteers spread throughout Spain.
