The conference begins this morning with an informative talk in the Camachas street building that takes place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Botika Association will set up an information table in the Plaza de España where a piggy bank will be set up for people who want to collaborate, and during the afternoon cognitive tests will be carried out on those who wish to do so.
On Friday, September 23, a workshop on emotional regulation and mindfulness will be held in which participants will be offered strategies and tools to help caregivers control stress and manage day to day. It will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will be taught by the psychologist Consuelo Ortega Merino (qualified health and expert trainer in equality and gender UMA)
Emotional Health Intervention Plan
Alzheimer’s Awareness Week is part of the Emotional Health Intervention Plan, a coordinated effort between the Botika Association and the Casares City Council that is carried out throughout the year with blocks of interventions in the field of care and emotional health.
Said Plan is subsidized with an additional item of 30,000 euros, the purpose of which is that different elements of emotional health could be worked on with different groups in the municipality: the elderly, women, youth and minors.
During the summer schools, interventions have been carried out in this regard, and now, in the coming months, the rest of the strategy is being developed which, in addition to this Alzheimer’s week, includes actions to raise awareness of mental health, with dependence on that generates brain damage and functional diversity, with Parkinson’s, on equality, neurodevelopment, tobacco use and skin cancer.
The Emotional Health Intervention Plan also includes individualized attention by appointment with a psychology and therapy team from the Botika Association. In addition to different educational strategies such as the Health Week, Family Schools, education in social networks, the Botika radio program and rural health days.
