Casares joined the demonstration last Thursday against the massive implantation of renewable energy plants in the Andalusian countryside that was held in Seville. A group of more than 40 neighbors, most of them affected, accompanied by the mayor, Pepe Carrasco, members of the government team and environmental groups, traveled to participate in the protest.

The concentration, under the slogan # RenovablesSíPeroNoAsí, #MoratoriaYa, was called by the Aliente Platform, which brings together 160 associations from across the country affected by the implementation of renewable energy projects.

The march ended in the Andalusian Parliament where the protesters registered an official petition to ask the regional government for a moratorium until the compatibility of the implementation of these renewable energy facilities with a sustainable development of their municipalities is guaranteed.

A group of representatives held meetings with parliamentarians from the PSOE and United We Can, among the latter, the Casanareño member of Parliament Guzmán Ahumada.

In Casares they have been presented 21 mega projects of photovoltaic plants and 11 of wind farms. The Casares City Council manifests itself in favor of green energies, “but against the massive installation and without planning of renewable energy projects that destroy our municipality,” they have affirmed from the Government team, at the same time that they have ensured that They have been working for months to demand from the Junta de Andalucía a regulation that regulates these projects and offering advice to the neighbors who are affected.
