The final of the I Diputación de Málaga Basketball Super Cup, which will face the CB Marbella, who competes in the LEB silver league, and at CAB Estepona, representative of the EBA, will take place this Thursday, September 23 at the Carlos Cabezas Pavilion.
The event was presented yesterday by the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Cardeña; the vice president of the Andalusian Basketball Federation, Ricardo Bandrés; the advisor attached to the presidency of CB Marbella, Enrique Agüera; and the secretary of CAB Estepona, Alberto Bressans.
The mayor thanked the federation and the provincial administration for the city. “We have many objectives and projects underway to try to give more projection to this sporting discipline,” he declared.
This tournament, launched for the first time this season with the participation of 200 athletes, has faced the 12 highest-level clubs from Malaga, both in the men’s and women’s categories. “People are hungry for basketball,” said Bandrés, who encouraged them to attend the meeting next Thursday.
For his part, Agüera has advanced that the party will have a “special component with an emotional memory for the youth squad Manu Nuñez, sadly passed away recently ”. Finally, Bressans has valued that this type of event “is a good window to show the excellent level of this sport in the province.”
