The CCOO union has filed a collective conflict before the Commission of the VI Collective Agreement of Labor Personnel of the Junta de Andalucía, in which it demands the extension of the opening calendar of leisure residences such as the one in Marbella, as well as requests the conversion of permanent discontinuous contracts to full time for staff .
From the collective they have reminded the Andalusian Government that the free time residences limited their opening time within the framework of the cuts imposed in 2012, now repealed by the framework agreement for a 21st century Administration.
At present, and like the rest of the leisure time residences in Andalusia, the Marbella Free Time City has a limited opening schedule, from March 28 to October 21. This results in less time of service to the citizenry, relocation of permanent personnel to other work centers of the Board and shorter contracts for discontinuous permanent personnel.
This reduced calendar is the result of tax cuts in public administrations by Royal Decree 20/2012, happily repealed through the framework agreement for a 21st century Administration, signed in November 2022 between the Government and the CCOO and UGT unions.
For this reason, CCOO has filed a collective conflict before the Commission of the VI Collective Agreement of Labor Personnel of the Junta de Andalucía, demanding the extension of the opening calendar, based on the repeal of the aforementioned cuts of 2012, the end of the relocations of personnel and the conversion of permanent discontinuous contracts into contracts full time.
The CCOO considers that the Marbella Leisure Residence has some unbeatable conditions to provide service all year round, allowing people with fewer economic possibilities to enjoy privileged facilities at low cost, in addition to allowing other types of uses: holding sporting events, congresses, training, etc. The union affirms that the abandonment and lack of use of the residence is not accidental, but that it is a political decision of the Junta de Andalucía, with the perspective of its privatization.
This union organization has been participating in mobilizations in the residential area of Marbellatogether with the rest of the unions present in the company committee of the Territorial Delegation of Employment, Company and Self-Employment, in which the Residence is part, claiming the increase in the opening period, the quality of the service through investments and stable employment, without the Junta de Andalucía having taken it as an allusion to date.
