The Marbella City Council will carry out a comprehensive remodeling of El Trapiche avenue, in the Miraflores neighborhood, which will include the improvement of infrastructures and the reorganization of urban space. The works will be carried out in parallel with the concessionaire of the supply and sewerage service, Hidralia, and will consist of three phases, the first of which is planned to next November 11.

In total, the action will involve an investment of 2.4 million euros and the goal is for it to be completed by next summer. At all times, the Government team and municipal technicians will inform residents of the calendar that will be followed, as stated today by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, during the meeting held with residents in the area at the Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Center to give learn about this project, together with the Councilor for Works, Diego López, and the manager of Hidralia, Fulgencio Díaz.

“We are going to make a significant investment in this neighborhood to improve the quality of life of residents and businesses, renovating the sewerage and water supply infrastructures, as well as telecommunications, lighting and irrigation and expanding the pavement, among other actions of the that we will promptly give an account to the neighbors ”, highlighted the councilor, who pointed out that only the first phase has a budget of about 900,000 euros within the annual investment plan for Hidralia’s works.

In addition, the councilor pointed out at the meeting, which was also attended by the councilor for the Western District, Remedios Bocanegra, that “our objective is to interfere in the least possible way in the normal functioning of the neighborhood during the development of this work. , since we are in an area with a significant number of businesses and residents ”.

For his part, the Councilor for Works has detailed that the first of the phases “will include Trapiche Avenue from Miraflores and Reino de Aragón Street to Salvador Rueda and on that same road from Trapiche to Postigo Street.”

It will act on an area of ​​about 3,000 square meters, in which, in addition to the renovation of the infrastructures, road safety will be improved with the widening of sidewalks to allow proper pedestrian circulation, intelligent pedestrian crossings will be built, 23 meters of handrails will be installed, a dozen new lights and the image of the area will be revitalized through the renovation of urban furniture and the planting of new trees.

Specifically, only in the first phase will 22 specimens of magnolia trees, as specified by the mayor. In this sense, he stressed that “in total, when the three phases are completed, 70 trees will have been planted, more than double the number currently in use.” “The purpose is to give the neighborhood of Miraflores a more dynamic, modern and nobler image through this work,” López also stressed. Finally, Fulgencio Díaz has pointed out that this type of action is framed within the public-private collaboration of seeking formulas and providing solutions to the citizen, which also allow a better city ”.
