The City Council of Estepona has awarded the construction works for a new section of the coastal corridor in the area of ​​Arroyo En medio, some works that have a budget of 227,069 euros and an execution period of two months, as reported this Tuesday by the deputy mayor of the Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT) area, Ana Velasco,

The works will consist of the construction of a wooden bridge 32 meters long and 3 meters wide and on each side of the new structure will be installed pedestrian walkways of this material They will have railings on both sides.

The municipal official has detailed that the total area of ​​action will be 221 square meters, reasoning the new path between the existing promenades in the urbanizations of Arroyo Vaquero and Costa Natura, and whose works are will complement the installation of street furniture, drinking fountains, litter bins and bollards.

Velasco explained that the new section will be fully financed with joint investment plans that the Association of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol has launched this year to support its municipalities after the pandemic. In this way, it contributes to the revitalization of their social, economic and tourist environments.

The municipal official thanked the collaboration of the Association of Municipalities and has indicated that the Estepona coastal corridor project is 90 percent executed after getting the connection of almost 20 kilometers of coastline. In this regard, he recalled that this infrastructure has become one of the most used spaces by residents and tourists, since it promotes outdoor walks along the coast, as well as the practice of outdoor sports.

Velasco has announced that the Consistory continues to work on the processing of other paths so that the entire coastline is united through this corridor, which has been consolidated as one of the main public spaces in Estepona.
