The City Council of Estepona has completed the works to improve the access road to Los Reales of Sierra Bermeja, a performance that has had a budget of 445,883.70 euros and has been developed along 4.7 kilometers, as reported by the Consistory on Tuesday.

The works -which have not had an environmental impact on the surroundings- have included the pavement reinforcement along the route, the beaconing and replacement of the vertical signaling between the Puerto de Peñas Blancas and the Plazoleta de Salvador Guerrero. In addition, it has acted in the gutters to make them walkable for vehicles, since they have been filled providing a greater width to the track.

The Estepona City Council has pointed out that this action has provided adequate access to vehicles emergencybeing able to facilitate the crossing of two of them in safe conditions, as well as preserve telecommunications infrastructurewhose access lane has already been repaired.

In this way, it strengthen security on this road in the case of the traffic of heavy vehicles, such as a firefighting truck in emergencies and in conditions of reduced visibility. In this sense, from the Consistory they have recalled that this path was crucial in extinguishing the fire that last year originated in Genalguacil and that it spread through Sierra Bermeja.

The budget for the work amounts to a total of 445,883.70 euros, VAT included, and has been financed by the Provincial Council of Malaga.
