The City Council of Estepona has expanded the facilities of the municipal librarylocated in the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, reorganizing the distribution of spaces in the two rooms it has, in addition to creating new ones, as reported Monday by the deputy mayor of the Sociocultural Area, Begoña Ortiz.

The mayor has pointed out that the Maria Zambrano roomwhich houses the resources available for loan such as books, films and music, has now been directed to the encounter and interaction with users.

Also, it has set up a space for literary meetings which may be reserved for reading clubs or any other meeting that has a meaning consistent with the use of the library, which will become have a space for reading newspapers and magazines.

Likewise, a space for the presentation of books, seminars or conferenceswith capacity for between 30 and 40 people, and which will have a video library and access computers for users.

For her part, the Councilor for Culture, Macarena Diánez, has indicated that the Antonia Guerrero room will be used for study, consultation and referencehousing encyclopedic collections, dictionaries and other collections.

The municipal library of Estepona also has a interior room for books in other languages and with internet access with computers for public use.

Among the novelties carried out, it has been enabled a new study room on the first floor of the Padre Manuel cultural center, whose schedule will be linked to the center’s schedule, broader than that of the library itself. Likewise, a new deposit has been set up for the location of the library funds and the performance of classification, registration and cataloging work.

Finally, the municipal library has acquired new bibliographic holdings with the latest literary novelties that will be made available to readers in the coming months.
