The City Council of Estepona has reported that the plays of remodeling of Cardenal Herrera Oria street, which is located in the surroundings of the Botanical-Orchid ParkThey are in their final stretch. The deputy mayor of the Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT) area, Ana Velasco, explained that this action is aimed at modernize and renew infrastructure as well as giving continuity to the urban improvement and transformation work that is being carried out in the city through this initiative, which has meant, to date, the renovation and beautification of more than 130 streets, totaling more 18 kilometers of roads from the urban core.

The works that are executed in more than 80% were awarded to the company General de Viales SL They have a budget of 232,648.20 euros (VAT included) and are financed through the subsidy that the Ministry of Tourism of the Andalusian Government has granted to the Consistory for the appointment of Estepona as a tourist municipality.

Works also include comprehensive renovation of subsoil services such as telephone, gas, electrical network and water supply network. Likewise, the flooring and furniture will be renewed in a homogeneous way with more efficient elements.

This action will allow, as in the rest of the roads where it has been carried out, the elimination of architectural barriers with the aim of improving use for pedestrians and thus giving continuity to the adjacent streets, which were also recently renovated.

In this sense, the project to be executed in the Cardenal Herrera Oria Street It will complement the remodeling carried out a few months ago in neighboring streets such as Barcelona, ​​Isaac Albéniz or Valladolid.

On the other hand, they have indicated, “an important aesthetic improvement of these streets will be carried out and a repopulation of this urban area will be achieved with the planting of trees and new landscaping”.
