The Costa del Sol city will host the XII National contest of Popi ham cutters, Estepona city, an event to be held this Sunday, March 27, in the Felipe VI Auditorium, from 12:00 to 16:00, as reported by the City Council this Friday.

The activity, framed in the event Estepona lives its streetswill bring together a total of eight participants Alejandro Berzosa (Torremolinos), Samuel Sánchez (Garrucha), Toño Rodríguez (Casares), Iván Gómez (Talavera de la Reina), Rubén Narváez (Málaga), Antonio Alcón (Jerez de la Frontera), Pedro Luís Linero (Two Sisters), Raul Fernandez (Carmena, Toledo).

The contestants must demonstrate their expertise when cutting a ham while the jury will assess, among other aspects, the style of the cutter, the plating or that the participants are capable of cutting portions of 100 grams by eye.

The jury will be made up of Juan Manuel Moreno, Juan Carlos Melendez, Jose Manuel Zamora, Francisco Hernández and the organizer of the event, José María Téllez ‘Popi’.

In addition to contemplate the mastery of the cutters of this national contest, attendees will be able to taste the participating dishes for a price of 6 euros. They will also learn first-hand the technique necessary to cut ham or how to present it on a plate in an aesthetic way.

The deputy mayor of the Sociocultural area, Begoña Ortiz, stated that this event, jointly organized by the Estepona City Council and José María Téllez ‘Popi’, and sponsored by the Provincial Council of Malaga and the ‘Sabor a Málaga’ brand, has achieved link the name of Estepona the one with the ham and first-rate Iberian products.
