Estepona is being promoted from today until Friday at the Berlin International Tourism Exchange (ITB), which this year is being held totally virtual and which has been called ‘ITB Now 2021’.
The Deputy Mayor of the Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT) area, Ana Velasco, explained that the city participates by being present at the virtual stand of the Malaga Tourist Board, as was the case at the World Travel Market in London, held last November.
Ana Velasco explained that the virtual space of Estepona exhibits a varied offer to enjoy our city in the open air, considered the ‘Garden of the Costa del Sol’. Thus, navigators who come to this page will discover that our municipality has an open-air museum made up of the more than 60 artistic works of the Mural Route.
In addition, the virtual stand offers information on the richness of our natural landscapes, beaches and leisure sports. In this sense, the person in charge of the FIT area has highlighted that Estepona has an exceptional climate with more than 300 days of sunshine a year and mild temperatures, “which makes us a privileged destination that can be enjoyed throughout the year” .
The mayor has pointed out that the Estepona tourism brand has managed to establish itself in recent years thanks to the initiatives carried out to achieve a tourist destination and a city that are committed to quality of life. Velasco has highlighted that Estepona is no longer just a destination that offers sun and beach, but also offers a well-kept old town with more than a hundred pedestrian streets and has an important cultural offer that includes initiatives such as the Ruta de la Poetry or the Sculpture Route.
On the other hand, Estepona has one of the most unique natural enclaves in the Iberian Peninsula, Sierra Bermeja, which is home to the only fir forest in the world that grows on peridotite soil and which hides numerous routes for hikers.
ITB Now 2021 will be a technical meeting in which the municipal delegation of Tourism has already arranged an appointment schedule with tourism companies interested in our destination, which will be held through videoconferences.
