The City Council of Estepona has put into operation a new sports court in the area of Las Joyas, being facilities that have had a municipal investment of 50,000 euros and that will facilitate the practice of paddle tennis and futsal in the suburbs, as announced on Tuesday by the mayor, José María García Urbano.
This has been highlighted by the councilor in a visit he has made to the space, where he has advanced that with the new equipment, the citizens of the area will be able to practice different disciplines for free sports.
The new one installation has an area of 20 meters in length and 10 meters wide, which has been covered with artificial grass and closed with tempered glass to give it a diaphanous and modern image.
This project, which has had a municipal investment of 50,000 eurosexpands the sports offer of this residential area and promotes healthy habits among the residents, who will be able to enjoy this new equipment for free.
In addition to creating a paddle tennis court, the Consistory has conditioned the adjoining plot for the practice of futsal, the first mayor has detailed.
These facilities add to the thirty free sports courts that the City Council has built in different neighborhoods of the city, taking advantage of plots that were in disuse. Thus, in the urban core are the tracks of Ceuta street, Plaza Concha Espina, Calancha or La Cala; and in the outskirts, those of Mar Azul, Arroyo de las Cañas, Nueva Atalaya, La Galera or the Cancelada skate park, where a soccer field was also built.
To these must be added sports areas located on the beach and the 15 biohealth circuits located in the neighborhoods of Seghers, Tres Banderas, Huerta Nueva, Blas Infante, Armed Forces, Mar y Sierra, Primavera, La Lobilla, Litoral Avenue, Paseo ‘Carmen Capote’, next to the Elba hotel, in the surroundings from the Chess Square, Las Joyas, Cancelada and Nueva Atalaya.
Estepona City Council is betting on provide important sports facilities to the municipality with the execution of projects such as the Fair, Sports and Leisure Park, which brings together a total of 23 sports courts for outdoor exercise throughout the year and the approved Athletics Stadium for official competitions, which also includes a soccer field and two 7-a-side soccer fields.
