The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, delivered this Friday the ‘IX Educational Excellence Awards’ for the Baccalaureate students of the six educational centers of the city, a contest endowed with 7,500 euros that recognizes the 16 best recordsas reported by the City Council.
The alderman has indicated that with this municipal initiative it is intended recognize the effort made by young people who have obtained the best grades in the last year of Baccalaureate.
In this sense, he highlighted the importance of motivating these students to successfully continue their training. “The work, serenity and perseverance they are essential to achieve goals and achieve professional achievements, so I encourage you to continue giving the best of yourselves in the next academic stage”, said the mayor.
These prizes are endowed with a total of 7,500 euros. All the students enrolled in the 2021/2022 course in the second year of Baccalaureate of the centers have participated in these awards IES Mar de Alborán, IES Monterroso, IES Mediterráneo, Patrocinio San José school, Atalaya school and Diocesan Juan XXIII school.
Each of the directors, depending on the number of students enrolled in their centers, has drawn up a list where the average grade is included obtained during the baccalaureate cycle. The choice of the winners has been direct, according to these lists of average grades, and they have been awarded the students of the Monterroso institute Clara Carpintero Villagrán, Estela Carpintero Villagrán, María López García and Claudia Vílchez Ríos.
Of Secondary Education Institute (IES) Alboran Sea have been awarded Pablo Leal Fernández, Alba Quintero Atel, Aitana Ferrero and M.ª del Carmen Díaz de la Torre from the Baccalaureate for adults, while from the Mediterranean institute have winning results Aurora Guillén Roldán, Víctor López Martínez, Jaime Quirós Quirós and Jorge Rueda de Gracia.
For its part, of CDP Patrocinio San José have been awarded Marta García Márquez and Lucía Rufei Villalta Álvarez; of John XXIII Diocesan College Paula Jerez Tomé and from school Watchtower Raúl Roche Mena.
