The City Council of Estepona emergency works completed rush in the tpromenade branch of the Arena Beach urbanization to repair the damage suffered by recent storms, for which it has earmarked a municipal investment of 16,038 euros for the installation of a breakwater wall and the repair of the pavement, as reported on Monday by the deputy mayor of the Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT) area, Ana Velasco.

The municipal official has reported that the works have improved the space that had been affected by the heavy rainfall, thus ensuring that the citizens can travel safely.

This action has focused mainly on the repair of a sinkhole that had to be delimited to avoid accidents to pedestrians. It has also proceeded to placement of a rock wall next to the sewage manholes, which prevents the structures from being affected by possible earth movements.

Velasco has pointed out that in this section of the promenade the public lighting and irrigation pipes have also been replacedand installed a new stamped concrete flooring red similar to the existing one.

In addition to repairing the sinkhole caused by the storm, the Consistory has also remodeled a part of the Arena Beach promenade which was also affected by waves and heavy rains, which has been replaced with pavement similar to the existing one and other damages that had been detected on the ground in the area have been fixed.

The municipal official explained that the City Council also carried out emergency works to repair the damage caused by the storm in the sections of coastal corridor that runs through the areas of ‘El Pirata’ and ‘Buenas Noches’.
