The City Council of Estepona has put out to tender with a budget of 867,990 euros the works for the comprehensive remodeling of a second section of the promenade, which runs from La Cala –in front of the San José school– to the Jacaranda building, and which connects with the coastal corridor of the area of La Punta de la Plata, as reported on Wednesday by the Consistory.
Behind the completion of the first section of the promenadebetween Juan Carlos I avenue and Andalucía avenue, the Consistory continues with the remodeling of this central and tourist enclave from the city. The second phase will be in line with the previous section, but with the adaptation and execution of new infrastructures according to the needs of the area.
This work, which has a budget of 867,990 euros (VAT included), will be financed entirely by the Provincial Council of Malaga. The aid is part of a plan launched by the provincial institution for the 16 municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants in the province, in order to promote the improvement of infrastructure and equipment in all localities.
In the case of Estepona, the work will allow the Comprehensive remodeling of more than 400 linear meters of the promenade. Among the actions to be carried out, in addition to modify supply and sanitation networksthe demolition of pavements on the promenade, sidewalks of Avenida España, ramps and steps are included.

The objective of the City Council is to continue with the remodeling of the rest of the sections until the total boardwalk connection and its union with the coastal corridor that is connecting the entire municipal term. In this regard, it should be noted that it has already been connect more than 90% of the Estepona coastwhich is more than 20 kilometers connected by pedestrian paths that enable tourist and leisure use of these spaces by the sea.
