The City Council of Estepona has tendered the works for the construction of a new stretch of coastal corridor in the area of the Villacana-Playa del Sol residential complexes, an action that has a budget of 541,016 euros and an execution period of 70 days maximum, as announced on Tuesday by the Deputy Mayor of the Development, Infrastructure and Tourism Area (FIT), Ana Velasco.
The municipal official explained that the future path will be connected to the existing section in Taraje Creek and with the one planned in Punta del Saladillo. The latter is in the drafting phase of the construction project.
Regarding the section that has been tendered in Villacana-Playa del Sol, the mayor has indicated that the works have a budget of 541,016 euros (VAT included) and that are financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan- Financed by the European Union- Next Generation EU.
Companies interested in submitting their bids may do so through the electronic office until April 7, at 2:00 p.m. The term of execution of the works will be 70 days at most from the beginning of the same.
On the new section, Velasco has pointed out that it will act on a total area of 1,900 square meters and on a 389-meter-long beachfront front, where plays of paving, footpaths of printed concrete and wooden floors on piled structure.
Works also include installation of lighting infrastructure to facilitate traffic during night hours, as well as of irrigation systems for the treatment of gardening to be planted to beautify the environment.
The deputy mayor of the FIT area has commented on the importance for the city of advancing the coastal corridorsince it is a strategic project to improve the environmental sustainability and tourism competitiveness of the destination.
Likewise, the coastal corridor affects the quality of life of citizens, who can enjoy walks through almost 20 kilometers of natural spaces that until now had remained incommunicado and inaccessible to the citizen.
