The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, presented this Friday within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), which is being held these days in Madrid, the ‘VII World Ham Contest’, which will take place from 6 to August 15 in the Costa del Sol city.

In this way, Estepona will once again become the world capital of iberian ham with this gastronomic and cultural activity, which has established itself as one of the great tourist attractions of the summer.

This tourist event will count on the presence of the best companies related to production of ham and its derivatives from all over the country, adapted to the measures of the health authorities.

The activity has been consolidated in the summer calendar as one of the most anticipated events, which is expected to take place this year.

The councilor highlighted that Estepona has “innumerable tourist attractions and our gastronomy and the wide range of restaurants is another value that brings us closer to the visitor”.

The promoter of the activity, José María Téllez -known as ‘Popi-, explained that in addition to having the main companies in the sector, the event will once again have free concerts to liven up and dynamize these gastronomic days.

On the other hand, the Consistory has presented in Fitur the ‘III International Festival of Chamber Music’, which will take place between March 11 and 17, 2022, in the Felipe VI Auditorium.

This event will feature an exclusive combination of award-winning teachers and young talent of recognized international level of chamber music. In this way, it will consist of three concerts and an open day, where you can enjoy a small master class.
