The Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Friday, September 3, at 2:00 p.m. The exhibition Prophets and Sibyls‘by the Sevillian artist Jesus Sarrate, in which he reproduces the sketches of some characters that flank the vault of the Sistine Chapel, made by the great Renaissance genius, Michelangelo Buonarotti, in 1506.
The sample consists of a total of 6 works 1 m. 40cm x 2 m. made of cardboard, paper and charcoal, with their corresponding explanatory panels: the sibyls Delphica, Erithraea and Líbica and the prophets Jonah, Daniel and Zacharias. The cartoons have been exhibited in the Civic Center of the Casa de Las Sirenas of the Seville City Council and the Centro Cívico Hogar de S. Fernando. Also, among them, the work called Jonah was selected to participate in the joint exhibition at the ANTIQVARIUN for International Workers’ Day in 2021. Currently his artistic production approaches color and fast and expressive pointing, playing with new formats, such as miniature or wall painting in ink.
These reproductions may be viewed until September 16, from Tuesday to Fridays, from 09 o’clock to 20:00 hours, and Saturdays of 09:00 to 14:00 and of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free access.
