The City Council has put out to tender the expansion of the Las Albarizas health center, a measure that will involve the creation of a new emergency building with an area of ​​600 square meters annexed to these health facilities. The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, who held a meeting today with those responsible for the clinic, has advanced that offers can be submitted until October 25 and it is expected that the contract will be signed before the end of the year and that the works will culminate in within six months of signature.

The councilor, accompanied by the councilors of Works, Diego López, and Health, Enrique Rodríguez, has assured that it is “a fulfilled legislature commitment” and has highlighted that the alliance between the local and regional administrations “has completely transformed the health map of the municipality”, with outstanding projects such as the unblocking of the expansion works of the Costa del Sol Hospital, the construction of the new health center in San Pedro Alcántara or the promotion of another center in Ricardo Soriano. As for the future Las Albarizas building, which has a tender budget of 840,000 euros, the first mayor explained that it will have five emergency consultations, two for respiratory patients, a nursing room, another for critics and one more for short treatments. In addition, the upper floor will be used for administrative matters of the center and for the use of health personnel.

For his part, the director of Las Albarizas, Antonio Ayala, thanked the City Council for its commitment to expand and improve the health facilities of the municipality and, specifically, pointed out that with this action “we are going to gain a large space in the emergency unit , with consultations and a worthy admission”. In addition, he has advanced that once the works are finished and the Ricardo Soriano center also comes into operation, “we are going to undertake a remodeling of the ground floor of the current building to expand the waiting room and reorganize medical services.” On the other hand, the person in charge of Infrastructures and Installations of the Sanitary District of the Costa del Sol, María Morales, has detailed that “the equipment will have the latest medical and technical technology so that patients receive the best assistance”.
