The Andalusian forest firefighting service, Plan Infoca, works in a Forest fire declared in the Malaga municipality of Mijas.
Specifically, the fire, declared around 1:15 p.m., affects the place Entrerríosas indicated on social networks, collected by Europa Press.
To the place they have moved aerial means –one heavy and one light–, a pumper, two operations technicians, two Bricas, a group of forest firefighters and an environmental agent. Total, 32 people.
It must be taken into account that the City Council of Malaga and also that of Alhaurín de la Torre have activated the Municipal Emergency Plan for extreme risk by high temperatures after Aemet has reported a red warning for high temperatures. The initial forecast is that it will remain in force from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the areas of Malaga and the Costa del Sol.
During this Wednesday, which according to the Meteorological Center could be the “hottest of the summer”, it could exceed 42 degrees in various points of the Costa del Sol and the Guadalhorce Valley. To this adverse situation is added the arrival of the feared terrestrial due to the west wind that will especially hit this day making raise thermometers above 40º, with orange and red alerts throughout the province.
The mayor explained that “the fire had spread rapidly to the north due to the easterly wind and the intervention has prevented it from reaching the area of buildings and an agricultural field”.
