The Parque de la Constitución will host the 1st Youth Festival on August 12, a free initiative with concerts in which the talent of local artists, lectures and recreational activities will be valued. The councilor for the branch, Enrique Rodríguez, presented the event, which is held on the occasion of International Youth Day, and stressed that “we are also going to celebrate the responsible and committed role of this sector in our society.” In addition, he has indicated that all the security and health measures will be adopted against Covid-19 in a day that will have a wide programming, which covers from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and that has the purpose of “celebrating youth in positive”.
“There will be live performances, we will have the winners of the Marbella Crea contest, informative talks, training workshops, recognition of outstanding young people, an exhibition of short films by artists from the municipality and, above all, this event will serve as a meeting and coexistence of the youth groups in the city ”, said the mayor. The entire schedule of activities will take place in the gardens of the Parque de la Constitución and with free admission until full capacity is reached. In the morning, from 11:00 to 14:00 they will have a more institutional character, with the presentation and presentation of different youth groups from Marbella in a round table called ‘Young people in positive’ and the presentation of the psychologist César Lázaro, from Psicosol Infantil. There will also be recognition of different outstanding young people in the city, the reading of a manifesto by the different groups in the sector and the performance of the young talent Jimena Vega.
In the afternoon, another part with the Youth Fair will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in a multicultural environment, structured in several spaces such as a main stage, a play area and workshop tents or ‘survival pills ‘. In the first of them, the contemporary dance artist Andrea Muñoz, the composer and singer Mario Recio, Timboas Records, Pedro Atienza, Kesia Disaya, José David ‘Dashter’ and Salma will perform. In addition, the short films of the young talents of Marbella Crea will be screened. “In the recreational area there will be murals and graffiti, a circus workshop, climbing wall, zip line, mechanical surfing and drone flying, among others,” explained the mayor, who added that, in the case of workshop tents or ‘pills of survival ‘will consist of an ecological garden, fun cooking and baking, recycling clothes, photo and video on social networks, healthy life or robotics.
