The Health Emergency Center 061 -belonging to the Andalusian Health Service of the Ministry of Health and Families-, inaugurated that Thursday the base of San Pedro Alcántara, nail facilities that will cover the towns of Marbella, Benahavis, Estepona and Ojenas announced by the delegate in Malaga, Carlos Bautista.

This was highlighted by the regional representative at a press conference, in which he was accompanied by the mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, and the provincial director of 061, Alejandro Salazar.

Bautista has pointed out that in the new base, which started operating in aprilthe 061 health professionals carry out their work during the waiting time between the notices, which have “with better access to National Highway 340 and to the Ronda roadplacing itself in a strategic place to improve its mobility and adjust the times for emergency care in its area of ​​action as much as possible”.

“This is a modest icing” on the end of the legislature, indicated the delegate, who highlighted the “extremely close” collaboration work carried out with the City Council of Marbella during the last three years.

For her part, the mayor explained that the base is located in a “municipal plot” assigned and conditioned by the City Council on María José González street, which adds “in its entirety 1,700 meters of equipment and About 550 square meters have been occupied”.

Muñoz has specified that the Consistory has invested “around 120,000 euros” to adapt the space, with some “dependencies in accordance with what they have been marking, but taking into account the areas of parking, urbanization of the plot, connections, electricitysanitation or supply”.

The mayor recalled that in order to have the San Pedro base, the City Council and the Junta de Andalucía signed an agreement “to provide us with new facilities that allow a greater agility, closeness and operability in an essential service”, emphasizing that “the 061 operates at the moment in which there is an emergency”.

The provincial director of 061 has detailed that this is a “non-care” base in which the teams remain until the warnings are activateds”, which has a “mobile UVI with which we cover the area from Estepona to Cabopino de Marbella, Benahavís and Ojén”.

As indicated, the same has three teams to provide coverage throughout the year, two of them for each of the shifts, established from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., and made up of a medical professional, a nursing professional and a health emergency technician. Also, in facilities will be able to operate “the 5 fixed helicopters” What about the service in the Andalusian autonomous community.

From this 061 care base in San Pedro de Alcántara, the 061 team will most of their outings in emergency situations. In it, professionals have a “rest and work area, as well as male and female changing rooms, a warehouse and an area for cleaning and disinfecting equipment”, in addition to a limited area for the mobile ICU.

These 061 health professionals attend mainly severe trauma, heart problems, acute coronary syndrome, respiratory problems, cerebrovascular accidents and cardiorespiratory arrest that occur in the city and nearby towns.
