This sixth edition of the Town Planning, Territory and Environment Conference organized by the General Foundation of the University of Malaga and the Manilva City Council, with the collaboration of the Association for Urban and Territorial Studies ‘Teatinos’, closes a cycle that began in its fourth edition in which they will address the content of the Urban Agendas that have been produced since 2015 in the international context, and that in this call they will dedicate to the Spanish Urban Agenda (AUE).

The format of these conferences does not make possible a complete approach to the content of the decalogue of strategic objectives and the thirty specific objectives offered by the AUE, so, with the ever-present intention of providing an instrument that helps local entities to design their own Action Plan, they have made a selection of objectives that they understand can be of immediate use for this purpose. “We will offer an overview of the main contents of the AUE from the hand of the Deputy Director General for Urban Policies of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Ms. Angela de la Cruz Mera,” they have highlighted from the organization.

Specifically, the focus will be on objective 10 of the Spanish Urban Agenda: “Improve intervention and governance instruments”, specifically specific objective 10.1: “Achieve an updated, flexible and simplified regulatory and planning framework that also improves management “; “Which will give us the opportunity to contrast the Andalusian urban planning bill in process (the so-called LIST) under the prism of the national strategic framework, thanks to the presentation of the master of so many urban planners, Mr. Venancio Gutiérrez Colomina”.

Likewise, the Conference will have the participation of Ms. Maricarmen Tapia Gomez, architect, editor of the magazine Urban Criticism, which will talk about mobility and equality, fundamental axes in the conception of objectives 5 and 6 of the AUE (favoring proximity and sustainable mobility; and promoting social cohesion and seeking equity).

Completing the substantive analytical content of this edition, the exposition of international urban policies within the framework of the European Union will serve as a reference to conceive the practices to be developed in the municipalities, in charge of Mr. Ignacio Pemán Gavín, President of the European Council of Town Planners.

«We hope that these Conferences are of interest to you, and we are sure that the face-to-face format, with the necessary capacity and health security limitations, as well as its online broadcast will favor its wide dissemination while retaking something as crucial for the city as it is the forum, the public space for debate and deliberation, in which we can represent the way of understanding and learning reality in order, if we wish, to transform it or, at least, share it ».

Registration is free And it can be done until October 20. It will be held on October 22 in face-to-face mode at Villa Matilde, at Avenida Leopoldo Alas Clarín, 51, in San Luis de Sabinillas, and online mode through the YouTube Channel, from 09:00 to 14:00.
