The Marbella Town Hall has calculated the damage caused by the last storm in the coastal area and the promenade in 670,000 euros, with 8 emergency actions that it will undertake in two weeks to have the beaches ready for Easteras announced on Monday by the Councilor for Works, Diego López.

This was highlighted by the mayor at a press conference after the Local Government Board, where he regretted that the Inclement weather They have hit the coast in a “much stronger way and have punished our beaches and the promenade” since last March 22, setting the date to finish the work on April 8.

The municipal official has indicated that on this occasion the most affected beach this weekend has been that of Alicate, recalling that wings of “Casablanca, La Fontanilla, El Faro, La Venus, San Pedro Alcántara and Nueva Andalucía” with “one of the strongest storms since November”.

Specifically, López has detailed that they have been affected “More than 7,000 linear meters of electrical pipes damaged”; or “more than 10,000 square meters of damage to the albero of the promenade” when the waves reach the coastal area, leaving “holes” and a lack of this material in some areas.

For this reason, he has indicated that the City Council is going to undertake “8 performances on the promenade for a value of 420,000 euros”to which has been added the action in the Marbellamar area to reinforce with breakwater “a wall of 40 linear meters that has been affected, as well as fix the pipes, “the replacement of public lighting for a value of 99,000 euros or actions of replacement of the albero for 105,000 euros from Puente Romano to the height of the Don Pepe Gran Meliá hotel.

Also, the City Council will allocate “an investment in areas near the beach of 21,000 euros” such as Punta del Ancón or Vesaya beach, as well as directing “in the Port of La Bajadilla 24,952 euros, in Cabopino 13,226 and in Costabella 27,000 euros”.
