The City Council of marbella is facilitating administrative procedure for the opening of the Hard Rock hotel and the renovation and modernization of the five-star Gran Lujo Los Monteros, both projects led by the investment group Stoneweg Hospitality, which will open the first of them this year, as announced on Thursday by the mayor, Ángeles Muñoz.
This has been highlighted by the councilor after maintaining a working meeting with those responsible for Stoneweg Hospitality, where he highlighted “Marbella’s potential to continue attracting hotel investment and improve the municipality’s excellent tourism offer”.
Muñoz has highlighted that the group “is betting very strongly on our city”, recalling that the brand “has just acquired Los Monteros” and “will open the Hard Rock hotel this year” after the acquisition last year 2021 of the establishment Hotel Andalucia Plaza de Puerto Banus.
“We are very satisfied with this preference of a firm so powerful and with so much experience and that entails many benefits, among them, it strengthens us at an international level, in addition to generating more jobs and wealth”, the first mayor stressed.
In this sense, the mayor has indicated that from the City Council “we are collaborating and facilitating administrative processing of both projects, both for the opening of the Hard Rock and for the renovation and modernization of the Los Monteros hotel, without a doubt, a reference and an emblematic establishment in the city”.
With this, he assured that “we are contributing in this way to attract more quality tourism to Marbella and that is great news”, remarked the mayor, who has stated that the objective is that “the deadlines for the two investments are met”.
For his part, the general manager of Stoneweg Hospitality, Miguel Casas, thanked the Consistory and the councilor for “the cooperation in the previous acquisition of the Andalucía Plaza hotel in Puerto Banúswhich is becoming the future Hard Rock, and the current one, with which we want to promote the Los Monteros complex, an emblem of the tourist destination that Marbella represents”.
“Our commitment to this city is being very strong and we are delighted with the collaboration of the City Council, so that these projects go ahead as soon as possible”, concluded the business representative.
It should be remembered that the City Council approved on November 2, 2021 the lLicense to refurbish the Andalucía Plaza hotelwhich will be operated by the Hard Rock chain, a project that includes 384 rooms and 50 suites with an opening scheduled for 2022, expected in June.
Likewise, the Swiss fund acquired last January together with Bain Capital the Los Monteros hotel for 47 million euros, where he projects a gradual reform of the complex with the aim of restoring it, since it dates from 1962.
