The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, highlighted today at the Gala in Tribute to the Mayor held at the ‘Adolfo Suárez’ Conference Center “the ability to overcome, courage and dignity that the group has shown in the face of the pandemic” and stressed that ” It is a day of excitement, recognition and hope because we are beginning to regain normalcy after this hard year and a half ”. “I have witnessed the uncertainty, fear and loneliness they have suffered all this time with special virulence and it fills me with satisfaction to be able to share this celebration again, coinciding with the improvement in data and vaccination ”, Muñoz highlighted.
The councilor has also had words of appreciation for the presidents and boards of directors of all Active Participation Centers, to whom a commemorative plaque, ensuring that “they have done a magnificent job as interlocutors so that we have knowledge of the situation in which the users were”.
In addition, the mayor wanted to highlight “the solidarity and commitment” not only of the health workers, but also of the volunteers and associations who have been by the side of the elderly at all times, attending to their needs and offering their support.
The event had the participation of representatives of the centers of Las Chapas, Encarna Cantero, Los Paisajes, Miraflores, Nueva Andalucía, Plaza de Toros, San Pedro Alcántara I and II and Santa Marta, as well as the center owned by the Junta de Andalucía in calle Peñuelas, and has been enlivened by the musical performances of Sylvia Pantoja, Raúl el Balilla, Chonchi Heredia, Ana de Caro, Marta Quintero, Álvaro Díaz and Ortigosa.
