The Marbella City Council is working on improving road safety and lighting in a section of Avenida del Prado in Nueva Andalucía, at the height of the urbanization of Las Alamandas. The Councilor for Works, Diego López, has reported that the actions will be completed in two weeks and will allow “A safer and more accessible place”. “We are in an area with non-existent sidewalks, a situation that caused pedestrians to have to invade the road, hence the importance of this measure, which will affect more than 1,000 neighboring residents,” he stressed.
“Along with the steel works, which will mean the creation of more than 280 square meters of paving stone similar to the one already existing in the environment, new electrical networks are being channeled and public lighting is being extended ”, said the mayor, who recalled that they are part of the SMEs Reactivation Plan. “We are responding to the demands of our neighbors with this type of action,” said López, who thanked the district and its advisor, Vanesa Ortiz, “for their willingness to prioritize all these works.”
This action, according to the councilor, is added to others that are being carried out in Nueva Andalucía simultaneously, such as those carried out in Puerto Banús, the repair work carried out in the surroundings of the Benabolá stream, the parking lot with 120 spaces that are being created on Gabriel García Márquez street, the widening of a lane in El Ángel or road safety improvements on Príncipe Salman avenue.
